Manchester United manager David Moyes has conceded that the team’s recent form is down to their lack of focus.
Moyes made his comments at a press conference after Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool.
“We haven’t played as well as we want to this season and I think there’s probably a little bit of that.
I think we need to focus on what we can control,” Moyes said.
He also admitted that the United squad is a little “dazed”.
“I think there are a lot of people that are in denial,” Moye said.
“We have played a few games in the past two or three weeks and it’s not as good as it was when I came here.
It’s not the same as the season we had before, but we have to get back to our rhythm and get ourselves back on track.”
It’s a difficult thing for any team to do but we’ve had to put in a lot more effort in the last few weeks.
We’re just a little dazed.
“Moye has been criticised for his squad’s poor performances this season, particularly in front of the Liverpool crowd, and Moyes believes his side have to improve.”
Mamadou Sakho and Marcos Rojo are set to return to Manchester United’s squad for Saturday’s trip to the north-east, with Moyes keen to bolster his options.”
I have to give them credit that they are getting a little more results in those games and that’s good, but it’s up to them.”

Moyles was unable to make his squad for the recent Europa League qualifier against Dinamo Zagreb due to a hamstring injury, but Moyes says he will still be able to play all four of his centre-backs.
David De Gea and Luke Shaw are the only remaining outfield players unavailable.
