Trump is using the Kremlin’s press office to attack his opponents, including by using the media as a shield, and then blaming the Russians for the attack.
“You can’t blame Putin for it,” Trump told reporters Monday.
“Putin’s the one who hacked the DNC.
That’s how bad things get.”
But in his latest tweet, Trump called the “Fake News Media” the “F—ing Kremlin” — even though the media outlet has repeatedly denied the charge.
“So why do the Fake News Media give you a pass?
Because they are Fake News!”
Trump tweeted.
“They lie!”
The president also tweeted a link to a BuzzFeed story on the claim, and an article published by BuzzFeed’s chief political correspondent, Ben Smith.
“Failing @nytimes, failing @NBCNews, failing CNN, failing the Fake @FakeNews @CNN, failing ABC, failing CBS, failing NBC and failing all of their Fake News partners — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 24, 2021 The BuzzFeed article has a number of factual errors, but it includes a number other sources of information.
The Trump administration has denied that the Russian government interfered in the election.
The president has said that Russia has been involved in hacking, although the Kremlin has denied any interference.
“CNN is one of the f—ing greatest failures. “
It is a total hoax and fake news,” Trump said of CNN.
“CNN is one of the f—ing greatest failures.
CNN is the enemy of the people.
CNN’s phony ratings are way down!”
He also attacked NBC and CBS.
“The fake @nypost is a f—in joke, and the fake @nbcsnl is the f—-in enemy of our people!”
Trump said.
“CBS is the biggest enemy of this country!”
“Fake news CNN!
Fake news @nyte!”
Trump added.
BuzzFeed and Time Warner are owned by AT&T.
The news outlet was founded by Rupert Murdoch and has an office in Trump Tower.
The articles mentioned that Trump was being critical of the media because he believes they are being controlled by Russia.
But BuzzFeed is not the only media outlet that Trump has been critical of.
The New York Times, the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal are all owned by News Corp. News Corp.’s CEO, Rupert Murdoch, has repeatedly made false claims that the media are not “fair and balanced,” and has attacked the U.S. government’s response to the Zika virus outbreak in the U,S.
and the threat of terrorism.
Trump, in his tweets, also suggested that the “fake @nyt” is the same person who “blamed the DNC” for the DNC leaks.
“FAKE NEWS — @nytopinion is the FAKE NEWS!”
Trump wrote Monday.
