I knew I’d never have a Swedish language program, but after a year in Sweden, I found myself at a loss as to how to get my toddler to understand it.
She didn’t know what to say to me, or how to say hello.
So I started teaching her Swedish words and phrases.
As a way to keep her focused on the lessons, I took her to the local movie theater.
The Swedish language is one of my favorite subjects, so I’d love to hear her speak more than she is used to.
I also learned Swedish on YouTube and she loves the videos.
Now, she is learning the Swedish alphabet and learning words like gård, which means “go.”
I hope my daughter will be able to get her own dictionary someday.
